A homemaker in the making

Probably the best thing that happened to me this last year was Pinterest.

I LOVE Pinterest.

Seriously the best thing ever created to help women like me....(who aren't good at cooking, cleaning, or anything crafty) be "homemaky".

I have made so much delicious food.
Here are my pinterest recipes I have tried and loved. Andrew is also one of the pickiest eaters ever and so if he likes it...you know it is good.

Delicious yummy crispy pesto gnocchi with tomatoes. Trust me gnocchi is amazing. Andrew and I love all types of gnocchi (pumpkin, potato, whole wheat, etc). Go here ---> Crispy Pesto Gnocci

I love avocado. It is creamy, healthy, and delicious. This chicken parmigiana is to die for. My husband for some odd reason isn't as obsessed with avocado as I am but he still loved the chicken still because the flavor is just so amazing. Avocado Chicken Parmigiana

So this recipe was infamous at my apartment. We made it for two parties...in other words.. it is delectable. It's super easy and cheap to make and it's a really good enchilada. Chicken & Black Bean Enchilda Casserole

When it comes to waking up in the morning I spend as much  time in bed as possible...which usually gives me 20 or so minutes to get up and ready for school before I have to be out the door. So in other words I have like 1 minute dedicated to making breakfast. This smoothie is easy, quick, and tasty. My favorite part are the oats...it gives the smoothie some nice texture. I like to add almond butter to it as well. Banana Oatmeal Smoothie

Before Andrew and I dated whenever my apartment would have men over I would make these little appetizers. Men love them. They are easy to make. And you can not eat just one. Potatoes are the best :) Pesto Baked Potatoes

As a newly married woman I got a crockpot from my grandma. I was so desperately wanting to use it, but didn't want to make anything difficult. This chicken literally only has 3 ingredients. And you can put the chicken in frozen. I have given out this recipe to many people and everyone has loved it. Hawaiin Chicken

Easiest recipe ever. Seriously, it is extremely simple...oreos, cream cheese, and chocolate chips. My roommates and husband know that when I make these that they go fast so they take as many as possible. Covering the oreos with chocolate can be a little tricky...but worth it in the end. Oreo truffles

Better than sex cake. It's pretty much the most tasty cake you will ever have. My hubby has no self control when it comes to it. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I saved the best for last. I would recommend this cake to anybody anywhere. A MUST TRY!!!  BTS Cake

THESE ARE MY FAVORITE RECIPES. TRY THEM.

I got tons of wedding ideas, fashion ideas, craft ideas, and learned a lot of interesting things from pinterest.

It another obsession of mine that I feel is not totally bad.

16 months later...

So I literally forgot I had a blog.

I know...its sad.

But life is busy when you are having fun....that's what they say at least..
so I'm gonna go with that.

Since I last posted I have traveled, met new friends, found new things I love, got married, pregnant, new apartment....

jk about pregnancy (babies scare me)

So it is literally impossible to post about everything going on in my life so I will talk about the best and most important change in my life.

Once upon a time (February 1, 2012) I was being an awfully studious student and went to good ol' Harold B. Lee Library to study for something nursing related (nursing has taken over my life). As I entered the 4th floor a handsome beau caught my eye. He was super hot and sitting all by his lonesome self. And the conversation in my head went like this:

Bold me: OMG. He is sooo cute. I should sit by him.
Shy me: Idk, what if I just embarrass myself and he is saving those seats.
Bold me: That is stupid.  He's cute and  you are cute...go for it.
Shy me: But there are A TON of empty tables near him...it'll be obvious I'm hitting on him.
Bold me: It doesn't matter, if it doesn't work out you'll probably never see him again.

That last thought won over shy me and I walked back to his table and asked if I could sit. He said yes! I saw he was studying Chemistry ( a class I know way too much about) and figured I knew enough chemistry to carry on a conversation about it. So I went for it and started talking to him. GIRL POWER!! [enter fist pump here] We then started talking about everything....classes, jobs, family, background stuff, roommates, professors, and death (kinda morbid for a "first talk" but it worked).

I would like to point out that although I made the first move. HE asked for my number, kissed me first, and asked me to marry to me him.

And the rest is history.

He proposed in Indiana!!! We were alone and at my favorite trail near the river. We were skipping rocks and he completely surprised me! He started getting serious and for a moment I thought we were gonna have "the talk" and I started tearing up. He had to console me and get down on one knee before I realized what was really going on.

I admit I get too emotional sometimes.         I blame hormones.

We took engagement pictures in Indiana with my Bishop and his wife.

*Big thank you to Craig and Tina*

We then did more engagements in beautiful Utah.

(We met in the library so we found it fitting to do engagements there as well.)
(Who knew libraries could be so romantic?)
( I always wanted to be a librarian...so we role played.)
(This was my favorite picture of all...look at my man's arm!!!)
(I was actually really scared in this picture because there was a snake really close to us, but we really wanted the picture so we took the shot anyways)
*The beautiful and talented Dani Bakker took these for us*

My bridesmaids were kind enough to through me a bridal shower (Alice & Wonderland Themed).
----> Side note: I'm obsessed with alice and wonderland so this made me cry with excitement....literal tears.
Oh...and I dressed up like Alice...in my Alice dress....thanks shabby apple

Fam-Damily :)

I then had one last bridal shower in Indy hosted by my granny janny and aunt shannon. They are the best.
( Me and my Aunt Shannon)
 (Taytay, Riane, and Sole)
(Since I have always loved Tiffanys they made this CAKE for me)

Then on August 16, 2012 I was sealed to my husband for time and all eternity in the Nauvoo Temple (which is my favorite temple by the way...and the coolest...prettiest...I'm biased.)

I was pretty pumped to be married....

Then on the 17th we had a pretty awesome reception at the Mill Top in Noblesville, IN. All the cool people were there...

Bridesmaids
(Taylor G, Ariel L, Emily U, Kenzie W, Haley W, Shelby M)

 Groomsmen
(Oscar F, Taylor E, Chad W, Paul S, Clay F)

My Sibilings
(Simone, Clay, Taylor, Mads, Oscar, Lucy)

Andrew's Fam
(Dennis, Linda, Michelle, Chad, Mason)

My Momma

My Dad and Kristy

Big family....I know. At least I know I'm loved.

And really quick I want to point out how darn cute my reception was....that was one thing I wouldn't have changed at all. it was perfect.

So then I was married and that is that.

More adventures to come.

[And for your viewing pleasure....]
